1. Who we are

Red Homestead is a homestead claim registry for off-world locations on the Moon and Mars. The service is operated by Trousdale Digital Technologies LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (the “Company,” “we,” “us”), with a mailing address at 25 SE 2nd Avenue, Ste 550 PMB 353, Miami, FL 33131, USA. We are the data controller for personal information collected through redhomestead.com. We are not affiliated with any government space agency.

2. The information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.

Claimant details (onboarding). To prepare your claim file, we collect the information you provide as a claimant: your legal name, date of birth, citizenship, mailing address, optional phone number, and an optional beneficiary name and relationship. These details are self-attested. We do not ask for, and do not collect, government-ID images, biometric data, or document uploads.

Claim information. The parcel you survey and stake — its coordinates, area, parcel identifier, and the plat you capture — together with the status and dates of your claim.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store your full card number, CVC, or bank details. We receive from Stripe only a transaction reference, the amount, the status, and (where applicable) a customer/subscription identifier needed to manage your purchase and any Claim Protection subscription.

Automatically collected. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address and request metadata to serve the site, prevent abuse, and provide security. We set one essential, first-party session cookie when you sign in so you stay logged in; it contains a random token only.

3. How we use your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use one essential, first-party session cookie for sign-in, your saved cookie-consent choice (stored in your browser’s local storage), and Cloudflare’s security cookies. Optional analytics load only after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner; clicking “Decline” prevents any optional analytics or tracking scripts from loading. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site’s local storage or contacting us.

5. Who we share information with (service providers)

We disclose personal information only to these processors to operate the service, or where required by law. We do not provide personal information to third parties for their own marketing.

6. Data retention

We retain your account, claimant, and claim records for as long as your account is active and your claim is maintained in the registry, because the registry record is the product you purchased. Payment records are retained as required for tax and accounting purposes (generally up to 7 years). Contact correspondence is retained for up to 3 years. You may request deletion of your account; see Section 8 (note that issued public registry entries and records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons may be retained or anonymized rather than erased).

7. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request access and deletion, to request correction, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information. Our cookie banner’s “Decline” button is our designated opt-out mechanism for optional analytics. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject “California Privacy Request”; we respond within 45 days.

8. EU/EEA and UK visitors (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing are: contract (to provide the account and claim service you request), consent (for optional analytics, withdrawable at any time), and legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, basic logging). You have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected].

9. Children

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Data security

We protect your data with HTTPS/TLS in transit, password hashing with a per-user salt and a server-side secret, first-party HttpOnly session cookies, rate limiting on authentication, and Cloudflare’s WAF and DDoS protections. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and limit who can access it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.

Important legal disclaimer

No conveyance of legal title. The 1967 Outer Space Treaty (Art. II) bars national appropriation of celestial bodies, and no sovereign, court, or land registry currently has jurisdiction to grant or enforce private title to land on the Moon, Mars, or any celestial body. Red Homestead does not and cannot convey legal ownership or any presently-enforceable property right.

What you purchase. A claim-documentation and registry service — the preparation, notarization support, public publication, opposition-period adjudication, and continuous-possession recordkeeping of a good-faith homestead claim — together with a collectible certificate. It is a record of your claim and intent, not a title.

Not an investment; not a security. Your payment is not an investment of money in a common enterprise and carries no expectation of profit from our efforts. We make no representation as to resale value, appreciation, or return. The claim is not offered as a security and is not registered with the SEC, any state securities regulator, or any other authority.

No guarantee of recognition; no sovereignty; not legal advice. We model the process on frameworks in which documented good-faith possession was sometimes later recognized, but we do not guarantee any authority will ever recognize your claim. No Red Homestead claim asserts national sovereignty. Nothing here is legal, tax, or financial advice.
